1.01 Summary: (aired 10/03/07) Ned, a mild-mannered baker of fabulous pies, discovered as a child that he had a unique gift. Ned had the ability to return someone dead briefly back to life with just a simple touch. Through the years, Ned has learned to live with his unique ability, and puts his gift to good use, working with his only friend, a private investigator, to crack murder cases by asking victims to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated, as all tales do, when he saves his childhood sweetheart and she miraculously stays alive. Life would be perfect, except for one cruel twist: if Ned ever touches her again, she’ll lose the life he gave her, for good this time.
1.02 Summary: (aired 10/10/07) When an automotive expert is found dead (ironically enough) after a strange hit-and-run accident, Ned suspects there’s more to the story, especially when he finds out the deceased worked for a company about to launch an experimental car. Meanwhile, Chuck wants some answers about how Ned brought her back to life.
1.03 Summary: (aired 10/17/07) Another strange death at the Schatz Funeral Home leads Ned back to the scene where he brought Chuck back to life. Meanwhile, Olive unwittingly becomes the messenger in Chuck’s plan to bring a little sunshine into the lives of Aunts Lily and Vivian via some anti-depressant laced pies, on Pushing Daisies.Guest star: Kristin Dos Santos

Post a Comment'Dummy' was my favorite, maybe it was the kissing through the body bags or the make-up on the bandages but mostly it was Kristin Chenowith singing. I thought that was just hilarious. Was I the only one singing along?

ABC Gives More Life to "Pushing Daisies," Featuring Tony Winner Chenoweth

ABC has picked up the new television series "Pushing Daisies," featuring Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth and a number of stage veterans, according to TVGuide.com.
Bryan Fuller ("Heroes," "Wonderfalls") created the new hour-long series, which plays Wednesdays at 8 PM (ET). (Check local listings.) Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black") directed the pilot and executive produces along with Dan Jinks, Bruce Cohen and Brooke Kennedy.
The series pulled in 13.03 million viewers for its Oct. 3 premiere. It garnered 10.26 and 9.75 million viewers in subsequent weeks. According to the report, ABC will now present nine additional episodes for a season total of 22.
Tony winners Kristin Chenoweth and Swoosie Kurtz as well as fellow stage actors Lee Pace, Anna Friel and Ellen Greene appear in the series.
Billed as a "blend of romance, fantasy and mystery," "Pushing Daisies" follows a "forensic fairytale about Ned, a young man with a very special gift," according to a show description. "As a young boy Ned discovers that he can return the dead briefly back to life with just one touch. But his random gift isn't without deadly consequences… as he soon finds out."
Pace (Small Tragedy, The Guardians) stars as Ned opposite Friel (original star of Closer) and Chi McBride ("Boston Public," "The Nine"). Chenoweth (Wicked, The Apple Tree) plays a featured role along with fellow stage leading ladies Greene (Little Shop of Horrors, Side Man) and Kurtz (Frozen, Fifth of July). Jim Dale (The Threepenny Opera) provides the show's narration.
Raúl Esparza (Company) recently appeared as a guest star. Among the list of upcoming featured players include Hamish Linklater and Barbara Barrie.
